Have you lost or found something on the campus of the University of Münster?

If you have lost or found something of value on the premises of the University of Münster, please contact the corresponding building manager or custodian. He or she is the first person to contact if you wish to deposit what you have found or enquire about any missing items.

There is no central “Lost and Found” office at Münster University as its buildings are located across the entire city. Please refer to the campus map, or Lageplan (in German only), for an overview of all the university buildings and their corresponding contact information.

The responsible building manager keeps found items for a period of four weeks. As soon as the owner’s identity is determined, the building manager notifies him/her to claim the item within 14 days. If items remain unclaimed for a period of four weeks, Department 2.1 (Internal services) hands them over to the “Lost and Found” office of the City of Münster at the end of the following month.

Are you a victim of a crime?

Criminal offences, such as theft, should be reported to the police. You can submit a report online or in person at any police station in Germany. Voluntary reporting enables the University to assess the cases statistically and implement preventative measures as soon as possible.

If you are a victim of theft, we also urge you to notify Münster University by phone Tel: +49 251 83-22191 or email diebstahl@uni-muenster.de.
