Das Zentrum für Islamische Theologie veranstaltete in Kooperation mit dem Exzellenzcluster für Religion und Politik der Universität Münster und dem Center for Open and Relational Theology in den USA am 7. und 8. Dezember die internationale Konferenz „Open and Relational Theology and its Social and Political Implications: Muslim and Christian Perspectives“. Muslimische und christliche Theolog*innen diskutierten ausgiebig über die sozialen und politischen Implikationen einer dezidiert offenen und relationalen Theologie. Die Online-Konferenz wurde
von Mouhanad Khorchide, Manuel Schmid und Thomas Jay Oord geleitet, organisatorische und technische Unterstützung erhielten sie von Bilgehan Asena Ayvaz und Josh Gilbert.
Die Tagung war, mit durchschnittlich 80 Teilnehmer*innen pro Tag ein großer Erfolg, und hat den Grundstein für weitere Kooperationen des ZIT mit dem Center for Open and Relational Theology gelegt.

The Center for Open and Relational Theology joined the Center for Islamic Theology (Muenster University, German) to host an international online conference in early December “Open and Relational Theology and its Social and Political Implications: Muslim and Christian Perspectives”. Muslim and Christian thinkers in open and relational theology explored social and political issues. The leaders of the Centers – Mouhanad Khorchide, Manuel Schmid, and Thomas Jay Oord – directed the conference, with help from Bilgehan Asena Ayvaz and Josh Gilbert.
The conference was a great success, with an average of 80 participants per day, and laid the foundation for further cooperation between ZIT and the Center for Open and Relational Theology.
